What is WishWell?

WishWell is OneGift’s community birthday fundraising platform. Instead of one-off crowdfunding pages, it turns everyday moments—especially birthdays and milestones—into recurring, unrestricted gifts for a nonprofit or shared cause. Community members get reminders when someone in their group has a birthday coming up, choose who to wish well, and donate a small amount for each wish. Recipients receive a personalized celebration card from the people who showed up for them, and donations flow to the organization’s designated cause. The experience is designed to feel warm and personal, not like another hard ask layered on top of an already busy calendar.

How do birthday fundraisers work on WishWell?

After your community is set up, WishWell runs the cycle for you. Admins add members (or import a list), set the cause and branding, and choose how much donors give per wish. On a regular cadence—typically quarterly—supporters receive a personalized email listing upcoming birthdays and special occasions. They pick who to celebrate, optionally add a message or media, and check out once. WishWell delivers the cards, processes payments, and deposits funds according to your payout settings. Communities often raise about $50 per member per year with almost no ongoing staff time once the program is live. Special occasions (graduations, tributes, anniversaries) use the same flow when you want the whole group to celebrate together.

Is there a fee?

There is no monthly subscription and no setup fee for WishWell. OneGift earns through a small percentage of donations raised and optional donor tips at checkout, so you only “pay” when money is raised. Card-network payment processing fees still apply, as with any online gift. Many communities also qualify for a first-year fundraising guarantee: if you follow the simple promotion process and do not hit the guaranteed amount, OneGift donates the difference. For pricing on other OneGift tools—donation forms, events, auctions, or donor management—book a demo and we will walk through options for your organization size and goals.

How do I book a demo?

The fastest path is to explore WishWell and request a free discovery call, or go to our contact page and tell us you want a demo. On the call we show how birthday and special-occasion fundraising works, answer questions about your community size and cause, and—when you are ready—can set up your WishWell live with you. Most organizations leave the first call with a clear plan, and many are fully operational by the end of that session. You can also read the how-it-works guide and Help Center articles before you book if you prefer to self-serve first.

Who is OneGift Foundation?

The OneGift Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 99-2187028) that builds fundraising technology for other nonprofits, faith communities, schools, alumni groups, retirement communities, and neighborhood causes. Our mission is to help organizations raise more unrestricted revenue with less administrative burden—through WishWell birthday fundraising, donation forms, donor management, events, auctions, grants tools, and related programs. We are a nonprofit technology builder focused on practical tools communities actually use year-round, not a pass-through charity marketplace.

How do payouts work?

Donations and WishWell gifts are processed securely and paid out to your organization on a regular schedule based on your payout settings and region. Admins can track giving in the dashboard, reconcile deposits, and review campaign performance. For country coverage, timing, and reconciliation tips, see our payouts resource guide or ask during a demo so we can confirm what applies to your bank and nonprofit registration.
